The Met Collection from
Cresent marries the mid-century influences of metropolitan
living and modern styling with functionality geared towards
today's lifestyle. Each piece in the collection has a clean,
striking silhouette featuring suspended slab tops and architectural
elements from the metropolitan skyline including sleekly tapered
bedposts on the signature bed. The Met is constructed of solid
oak and oak veneers and is finished in a rich mocha stain
with a high gloss lacquer. Brushed nickel geometric pulls
and metal accents offer an appealing color contrast that enables
each piece to be the focal point of a room. Solid oak is an
open-grained wood with very distinctive linear grain characteristics.
It is an extremely dense and durable wood; in fact, many of
the oldest surviving pieces of antique furniture were constructed
of oak hundreds of years ago. Oak has inherent characteristics
that may be magnified by the high sheen finish on The Met
Collection. Examples of this are pinknots and grain checks,
which appear as hairline cracks along the grain lines. This
checking is a natural process and does not compromise the
integrity or beauty of the wood. These characteristics are
not considered defects or the result of poor manufacturing
techniques. We ask that you consider these facts about oak
before making your purchase decision. We offer Dining Room
and Bedroom.

Foxland
Hall
There is a certain rustic
charm about country English furniture; it is at once robust,
natural and casual, that make it suitable to people who
enjoy their homes and furnishings. Provincial craftsmen
in centuries past freely interpreted the design details
of formal court styles of the day. When a modern day furniture
collection is carefully edited, as is done by Cresent in
Foxland Hall, the result is a charming variety of country
turnings, carvings and molding patterns that are related
yet remain individual expression. Foxland Hall was inspired
by a mule chest dresser built in Lancashire, circa 1770-1810.
Originally a chest that contained a storage compartment
under a hinged top and disguised by dummy drawer fronts,
the form gradually evolved into what we know today as a
dresser. Faithfulness to the spirit of the original is noted
in the wide top rail and key escutcheon that would have
allowed the owner to lock the hinged lid of the antique
original. Note, too, the ogee bracket feet, particularly
the center leg on certain cases for added strength. Cases
feature a reeded quarter round column in the pilasters as
well. This warm and inviting collection of solid oak bedroom,
dining room and occasional offers a selection of pieces
to make any contemporary home a manor. Foxland Hall: A look
of ease and country-style comfort that is centuries old,
but has never seemed newer. We offer Dining Room, Bedroom
and Occasional pieces.
